This turn of the century home in the historic district of old downtown flagstaff, was both charming and outdated. The challenge here was to update the home while retaining the character.
The exterior was given new windows and paint throughout. The front steps were removed and a small landing was added. The interior remodel included removing several walls and reconfiguring the kitchen dining and living areas. The three-season porch was insulated and included into the new interior layout.
An awkwardly placed bedroom was integrated into a much larger open kitchen design with access to the backyard through new French doors. New cabinets, appliances, countertops and fixtures, along with a small island, gave new functionality to the outdated cramped space. A new primary suite was designed by combining two smaller rooms and adding the bathroom ensuite.
The guest bathroom space was reworked for accessibility and functionality. The pedestal sink and small shower allow the space to feel much larger than it truly is. New, paint, tile and glass shower surround and fixtures complete the update.
